What is changing for messaging in US?

To enable texting (SMS/MMS), all the US mobile carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and others) are mandating users to register with The Campaign Registry (TCR). It is an organization setup to approve texting on phone numbers. The high level purpose is to prevent spam in carrier texting networks. This means TCR will verify and approve each brand and campaign to allow texting.

This process will significantly help in improving text deliverability as carriers increase trust for approved numbers in their networks. Subsequently carriers will start slowing texting traffic on the lines which are not associated with approved campaigns and eventually stop texting on those lines in future.

iPlum facilities this process for you in iPlum portal.

Are the same regulations affecting all competitor providers?

Yes, all providers whose solution makes texting available to their end users have similar requirements.  They are all mandated with same industry standards. They all have to register users to enable texting on their numbers.

Important date for new changes?

Carriers will start slowing SMS traffic (in and out) on the lines which are not associated with approved campaign starting March 31, 2023 and they may eventually stop it in few weeks/months after that.

Do I need to register every time I add a new number?

No, there is only one registration per iPlum account.  When you add new user/numbers in same iPlum account, they are automatically assigned to existing registration.

Can I opt out of texting registration?

Yes, if you do not want texting on your lines, you can opt out of TCR registration.  If in future you need texting, remember to complete registration process in iPlum portal.

I only send conversational personal messages — Do I still need to do registration process?

Yes, TCR and carriers require a campaign associated with a number in order to enable texting even if it is used for personal messages.

Can I have a mix & match in my iPlum account, some lines have texting enabled and other disabled ?

Yes, you can do that.  However, if one line needs texting you will do the registry process.  Once your campaign is approved, iPlum will automatically associate all numbers with that campaign but you can login to your iPlum portal and disable texting on specific lines.

How do I cancel my campaign registry?

Once you have cancelled all the lines in your iPlum account, iPlum will cancel out your campaign automatically.

Does my registration gets cancelled when my iPlum number gets cancelled for any reason?

Yes, if there was only one active phone line left in the account which got cancelled for any reason and you reactivate the line, you may have to do the registration process again for the text campaign.

Porting number into iPlum: Do I complete registration before or after transferring numbers?

We highly recommend you to start registration process as soon as you place the port order in iPlum portal.  You do not have to wait for port to complete.  iPlum will automatically associate the number to approved campaign the once the port is completed.

Do Canada numbers need to register?

Canada is not participating in TCR so Canada numbers should not be blocked. But if you are sending SMS to US numbers, you will still need to register your Brand and Campaign.

II. Costs for registration.

Registration is done at iPlum account level by account administrator.  You need only one registration process even if you have multiple iPlum lines in that account.

  2. Paid by iPlum: Recurring monthly TCR fees: Varies between $2 to $10 depending on the account.

III. Steps to complete registration.

Registration is a four step process.

  1. Login to your existing iPlum online account https://my.iplum.com.
  2. Menu (Left bar) || TCR Texting Registry  || Add Campaign.
  3. Help notes are available in the form itself.

How to update plans?

  1. Login to your existing iPlum online account https://my.iplum.com.
  2. Dashboard || Users || Click iPlum Login ID of the Line || Plans || Number Plan || Edit || Select latest plan || Make sure to select "effective immediately".

Step-4: Associate iPlum numbers with the approved campaign

This step is automatically completed by iPlum for you when your Campaign is approved by TCR as per Step-2 and you have latest plans as per step-3.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
